The proposed Glenellen Solar Farm situated 3.5 km north-east of Jindera in the Greater Hume Shire will convert energy from the sun into electricity, producing low-cost renewable energy generation into the NEM.
The area under investigation comprises of approximately 370 hectares of mostly cleared land between Drumwood and Ortlipp roads in proximity to the existing Jindera substation. The development is currently in the feasibility stage with initial site surveys having been recently undertaken to evaluate the suitability of the land for a solar farm installation.
Community consultation is a key next step and the current focus of our activities. Feedback from the community will help shape the development ahead of proceeding into the formal planning process; this includes landowners, community members, advocacy groups, Councils and local business owners.
